What is Job Sharing with Inter‑MyTrucking?

Inter‑MyTrucking (IMT) lets you send jobs from your MyTrucking account directly to another MyTrucking company. This makes subcontracting faster, easier, and more accurate.

You can use Job Sharing with Inter-MyTrucking in two ways:
1. As a Job Owner (sending jobs to your subcontractors)
2. As a Subcontractor (receiving jobs) from job owner.

Setting Up Subcontractors

  1. Go to Account > Subcontractors.

  2. Click Add Subcontractor.

  3. Search for the MyTrucking company (search is country‑limited and starts after 3 letters).

  4. Optional: Change the display name.

  5. Click Save. The subcontractor will now appear in your list and will receive an email letting them know they have been added as a subcontractor.

  6. If reference fields are enabled, tick the box to send reference field data (e.g., Docket Number, Order Number).

💡 Top Tips

  • If you use Xero and have tracking enabled, you can assign the tracking category to the Subcontractor as you would a vehicle.

  • If you use MYOB Business AccountRight, you can assign the MYOB Jobs code.

Adding a Job for a Subcontractor

  1. When creating a job, select the subcontractor in the Vehicle list (subcontractors appear at the bottom with an icon).

  2. Status icons will show on the Daysheet:

    • Blue = Sent

    • Green = Accepted

    • Yellow = Completed (driver upload or dispatcher marks Done)

  3. The job will appear in the subcontractors Import and Review Jobs Page

  4. Once accepted, the job becomes separate and editable for both the Job Owner the Subcontractor.

If the Job Owner marks the job as done before it has been returned by the Subcontractor, this will break the link between the jobs and returned data won't be received by the Job Owner.

Editing a Subcontractor

  1. Go to Account > Subcontractors

  2. Click into the field you wish to update

  3. Make the required changes and click save

💡 Top Tips

  • When a job has been uploaded by the subcontractor's driver, the status icon will be set to yellow and the driver returned information including images will go back to the Job Owner.

  • If Automatic Delivery Notifications are enabled, these will be sent to the clients and will include images.

  • If the dispatcher marks the job as Done (without the driver uploading the job) the icon will be set to yellow (similar to the existing phone icon).

  • The Charge Client for the job in the Subcontractors account will be the Job Owner.

Restrictions

  • A subcontracted job cannot be split into two jobs.

  • A subcontracted job cannot be subcontracted again to a third company.

Cost Rate

Use the Cost Rate field to set pricing for the subcontractors job. This value populates the Rate or Total fields (for fixed price jobs) in the subcontractors account.

The cost rate can be edited by the Job Owner until the Sub Contractor has accepted the job, any changes to the rate after that will not update at the sub contractors end.
