The "Chrome Out of Memory" error basically means:

  • Chrome has run out of space to do what you're asking it to do.

  • The computer's memory (think of it as its short-term workspace) is currently full or nearly full.

Every tab, every video, and every application you have running takes up some of this memory. When you open too many things at once, Chrome runs out of room to work

How to Fix It

To make the error go away, you need to free up some space in the computer's memory. Here are the easiest ways to do that:

  1. Close Unnecessary Tabs: This is the quickest fix. Look at your browser and close any tabs you aren't actively using. Each one is a separate task taking up memory.

  2. Close Other Programs: If you have other programs open (like Word, a photo editor, or a game), close them temporarily. They are also competing with Chrome for the computer's memory.

  3. Restart Chrome: Sometimes, closing and reopening the Chrome browser can help, as it clears out any little bits of memory that weren't properly released by old tabs.

  4. Restart Your Computer (If needed): If the error keeps happening, turning the computer off and back on is like giving it a "fresh start." It completely empties all the memory, which often solves the problem immediately.
