The Automated Fuel Levy feature is currently available to Xero customers only and is configured within General Settings, the Product Page and the Client Page.
β
A fuel levy is an additional charge applied to invoices to account for fuel price fluctuations and is calculated as a percentage of the invoice, allowing base product rates to remain unchanged. MyTrucking can automatically apply this levy to applicable products and clients.
Setting your Fuel Levy
You'll need the Super User role to enable this feature.
On your settings page go to Account > General Settings > Find Levies and tick the Enable Box.
You will see a table appear where you can add your levies and select the applicable GL account.
You can edit the levy at any stage and the change will be applied.
All Products and Clients will be applied to the Fuel Levy by default.
Excluding Products from the Fuel Levy
On the Products page (Accounts > Products) there is a tickbox indicating whether the Fuel Levy will be applied to that product or not.
All products are ticked by default so if you don't apply a Fuel Levy for a product, simply untick it and click Save.Β
Managing the Fuel Levy by Client
You can select which Levy to apply to each client, or exclude them entirely.
Viewing your Fuel Levy
On the Invoice by Charge Client page, the Levy to be invoiced is shown as a subtotal.
The "Selected subtotal" is the sum of the jobs that are ticked as "Ready to be Invoiced" with the Levy to be invoiced beneath it.
The "Total amount" is all the jobs for the Charge Client with the Fuel Levy
Reporting on your Fuel Levy
We don't have any reports available in MyTrucking for reporting on the Fuel Levy, this is because the Fuel Levy is applied when the jobs go over to Xero.
In Xero however, you'll have the ability to run an Account Transactions report for the Fuel account. This report will not include Draft invoices
