Ways to Order Jobs on the Daysheet
MyTrucking offers two ways to control the order of jobs on your Daysheet:
Pickup Time or Delivery Time
Use the Pickup Time or Delivery Time fields to determine the order of jobs. Jobs are automatically sorted based on the times entered, and the job order is passed through to the MyTrucking Mobile App. If no Pickup Time or Delivery Time is entered, jobs will be sorted in the order they were added.
This option is ideal if you prefer jobs to be automatically sequenced using time values.
đ For more information, see How to set the Order of Jobs with the Pickup Time or Delivery Time fields
Job Ordering with Drag-and-drop
Manually arrange jobs into the order you want by dragging and dropping them on the Daysheet. You can reorder jobs, move them between dates, vehicles or drivers, and adjust schedules based on operational requirements rather than pickup times.
This option is ideal if you want complete control over the order your drivers see and follow.
Important: The Daysheet can only use one ordering method at a time. If Job Ordering is enabled, pickup times will no longer determine the order of jobs.
Job Ordering with Drag-and-drop is available when your Daysheet is grouped by Driver or Vehicle only.
How Job Ordering Works
Traditionally, jobs on the Daysheet are automatically sorted by pickup time. With Job Ordering with Drag-and-drop enabled, you can manually arrange jobs into any order you choose.
There are two Daysheet sort options:
Pickup Time or Delivery Time
Job Ordering (Drag-and-drop)
Only one sort method can be used at a time.
Important: This is a company-wide setting. When enabled, the selected sort order applies to all users in your company.
Why Use Job Ordering?
Job Ordering gives dispatchers greater flexibility by allowing them to create a job sequence based on operational requirements, rather than relying solely on pickup or delivery times.
With Job Ordering enabled, you can:
Reorder jobs on the Daysheet.
Move jobs between vehicles.
Move jobs to a different day.
Create the job sequence that works best for your drivers.
Have the same job order displayed in the MyTrucking Mobile App.
Any changes made to the job order are visible to all users in your company.
Enabling Job Ordering
Go to Settings.
Find Job ordering.
Select Drag and drop (organised by Vehicle) or Drag and drop (organised by Driver). If the Driver field is enabled in your General Settings, you'll be able to choose between ordering jobs by Vehicle or Driver. If the Driver field is not enabled, only Drag and Drop (by Vehicle) will be available.
Save your changes.
On the Daysheet, make sure the Driver or Vehicle column is visible (depending on your selection above). If the column you want to order jobs by is not displayed, Drag and Drop functionality will not be available. Click the settings cog to choose which columns are shown.
Once enabled, you can begin manually arranging jobs on the Daysheet.
Reordering Jobs
To reorder a job:
Click and hold on a job row.
Drag the job to its new position.
Release the job where you want it to appear.
Click the Save icon to save the new job order.
The new order will be visible to all users in your company.
Tips for Dragging Jobs
You can start dragging from most areas of a job row.
However, you cannot start a drag action from:
Editable fields
The Done checkbox
If you're unable to drag a job, try clicking and dragging from a different area of the row.
What Happens to Pickup Times?
You can continue entering pickup and delivery times while using Drag-and-drop Job Ordering.
However, when Drag-and-drop Job Ordering is enabled:
Pickup times no longer determine the order of jobs.
The manual order you create becomes the Daysheet order.
Drivers will see jobs in the order you have arranged them.
Moving Jobs Between Vehicles or Days
You can drag jobs between vehicles and move them to another day while maintaining your preferred job sequence.
When a job is moved:
The vehicle assignment is updated automatically.
The date is updated automatically, if applicable.
The job is placed in the position you choose.
Mobile App Synchronisation
When Job Ordering is enabled, the order you create on the Daysheet is passed through to the MyTrucking Mobile App.
This means:
Dispatchers see the same order as drivers.
Drivers follow the planned sequence you have created.
Any changes made to the order are reflected in the app.
Drivers are unable to change the sort order.
Switching Back to Pickup Time or Delivery Time Sorting
If you change the Daysheet Sort Order back to Pickup Time or Delivery Time:
Jobs will be reordered based on their pickup or delivery times.
Any manual ordering you created using Job Ordering will no longer be used.
Important: If jobs contain pickup or delivery times, switching back to Pickup Time or Delivery Time sorting may result in the Daysheet order changing significantly.
For this reason, MyTrucking may display a warning before changing the sort method.
